Mark has a Masters in Public Health and Wellness from the University of Texas in San Antonio and a Bachelors in Athletic Training from Southwest Texas State University. He is currently a Doctoral Student at A.T. Still University. Mark is currently a head athletic trainer in the SAISD School District. He is responsible for the health and safety of over 300 plus athletes on his campus. Before SAISD, he was the head athletic trainer at Central Catholic High School in San Antonio. For 13 years he was charged with the health and safety of not only the athletes, but also the general student population. In addition to his athletic trainer duties he was also the school's webmaster, social media manager, assistant to the athletic director, and bus manager. It was as the bus manager that he first discovered Tecaboca. Driving a group of students to senior retreat was his first experience with crossing the “dam road”. From that moment, he has made every effort to visit and even work the summer Marianist program LIFE as the first aid medic.
