Floyd was born and raised in San Antonio, Texas. After graduating from Central Catholic High School, he obtained a Bachelor of Arts from St. Mary's University and a Juris Doctor from the University of Texas School of Law.
In 2012, Floyd and attorney Ronald B. Prince formed Prince Contreras PLLC in San Antonio, where Floyd continues to practice law primarily in the areas of family law, probate, and civil litigation.
Floyd became involved at Tecaboca first as a LIFEr with the Marianist LIFE program while a student at Central Catholic. While in college and law school, Floyd came back to assist with Marianist LIFE for multiple summers.
Floyd became a member of the Board of Directors of Tecaboca in January 2015, and he became Chair of the Board of Directors in February 2018. He continues to be grateful for the opportunity to be part of Tecaboca, especially as a way to continue the legacy of Marianists like Bro. Harry Cornell, S.M., Bro. Jim Burkholder, S.M., and Fr. Don Cowie, S.M., who all taught him at Central Catholic and worked dutifully at Tecaboca during the many summers Floyd spent there.
