Ana María Sánchez2 (born Sánchez and married a Sánchez) is a native of San Antonio, Texas, and a product of Catholic School education, kindergarten through college. She earned her Bachelor of Business Administration in International Business from St. Mary’s University, San Antonio, Texas, in 1985. She is certified in the ministry of Spiritual Direction. She has worked in an array of areas: international banking, bilingual education and real estate. She is currently the Executive Assistant to the Superior General and General Council of the Congregation of Divine Providence, located at Our Lady of the Lake Convent. She and her husband manage and oversee their family’s rental homes.
Ana Maria’s first visit to Tecaboca was during her teenage years and involvement with her Marianist parish (Holy Rosary’s) youth and young adult ministries. She returned with her husband and their young five children for a family retreat sponsored by the Holy Rosary Young Adult alumni. The family was smitten with the beauty and peace of the landscape and surroundings Tecaboca offers. She joyfully returned as an adult team member and director with her five children who attended with the ACTS Youth Ministry of their parish, St. Matthew Catholic Church. All five children also attended L.I.F.E. camp under the umbrella of St. Matthew parish and while attending Providence and Central Catholic, their parents’ alma maters. Tecaboca is considered holy ground to all the members of the Sanchez family! It served each of them well and uniquely.
She and her husband were very active St. Matthew School parents, involved in the Booster Club and their children’s team sports. Both became very active in the St. Matthew’s ACTS Ministry and ACTS Missions as team members and directors. Ana Maria served as member and director on the two teams that established ACTS in Honduras and Mexico City, along with several local parishes. Ana Maria and Pierre have both served on the St. Matthew ACTS Core Team. She continues to direct an outreach for women ministry, called Circle of L.O.V.E., initiated and supported by St. Matthew ACTS Core. With the guidance and direction of the Holy Trinity and our Blessed Mother, Ana Maria assists five individuals in their spiritual journeys as their Spiritual Director.
Ana Maria and Pierre have five adult children who are keeping them busy given that the three oldest decided to get married within an 11-month time span. Grace and blessings come in all forms!
